My French Teaching Journey

How It All Began

Growing up in Cannes, a city that will always be dear to my heart, I developed a love for languages at around 12 years old. This passion was fueled by my fascination with American pop culture — from music and TV shows to movies and everything in between! I still recall how I couldn’t wait for French dubbed versions of shows like Desperate Housewives. That’s when I began watching the English versions, which inspired me to immerse myself deeply in the language and learn it effectively. I now want to do the same with my students, fostering their love for the learning experience and keeping them motivated on their language journey.

The Start of My Tutoring Experience

This early passion for languages led me to start tutoring students in both English and French, marking the true beginning of my tutoring journey. I found immense satisfaction in helping people progress and seeing them learn a new language. To make my lessons engaging, I always aimed to make teaching fun by incorporating movie scenes, studying songs, and using various creative methods to keep my students motivated and excited.

In my late teens, I moved to the United States and later attended a Canadian university, where I earned a BA in Translation. My career initially took me into marketing — another field I’m passionate about — where I found more job opportunities.

A New Chapter in Mauritius

When I moved to Mauritius, I decided to shift my focus more towards tutoring, turning what was once a side hustle into a significant part of my professional life. Today, I work as a freelance marketer while also dedicating time to helping others explore the beauty and richness of the French language.
